Nubble Light in Sea Smoke

from $35.00

I had arrived way too early for this sunrise at Nubble Lighthouse on Maine's Cape Neddick. The -8° F temperatures drew warmth from the ocean waters in the form of fog, aka Sea Smoke, while numbing my finger tips to the point of delivering a burning sensation. After a long hour of waiting and hoping for a colorful sunrise, I decided this was the best the color would get on this brutally cold seaside morning. After carefully packing my gear away, and as I climbed into my truck, I notice the color starting to intensify. Somewhat reluctant to expose my finger tips to the cold again, I quickly decided the sunrise was not done and I once again brought out the camera and tripod, framed up the shot again and waited. Thirteen minutes later my Fine Art image "Red Sky in the Morning" was captured.
