On the last October Sunday of 2023, the weather was unseasonably warm which made it ideal for attempting a lakefront sunrise image. The sky was showing promise with pink hues starting to show in the mid-level clouds as I arrived at the north end of Crystal Lake. A few minutes later the sky was awash with magenta highlights that soon started migrating to the south end of the lake leaving behind gray-blue clouds and a bright highlight where the sun was going to rise. Within minutes the once pink clouds were turning a yellow/amber color which I found much more interesting.
