Sidewalk Sunflower
It is said that beauty is all around us. We just need to look up and see it. On a recent trip you Acadia National Park, we spent some time wandering the streets of Bar Harbor, Maine. As you might image on a mid-September weekend, the streets, eateries and stores were all quite busy. While my party was in a small shop examining their wears, I waited outside the door. The shop keeper had planted a few sunflowers next to a tree the city had planted. I spent about ten minutes watching the passersby and noticed it was mainly the children that noticed the sunflower looking down on them. Few adults took notice of "the beauty around them" this sunflower provided. Don't let life extinguish the beauty that nature provides, especially when it is standing right in front of you.
