I am a retired, freelance photographer living in New Hampshire. My wife and I are also an avid RV’er.
We have been a camping family for decades. When the kids were small and we had no money back in the ‘90’s we bought a 1973 Scamper Pop Up, blue canvas sides, hard top with scissor lift arms. It wasn’t much, but it was fun. We later transitioned to a hybrid trailer and now travel in a Grand Design Reflection 303RLS and love it.
When I saw the empty medallions built into the RV trim, a design feature in many fifth-wheel RVs, I knew immediately what I wanted to use them for—travel photographs.
All our images are printed on commercial-grade, Epson printers using pigmented inks for color stability. We print on Epson Professional Photography Paper and mount to foam core for stability and to protect the print should the roads shake your memory from its frame. If measured and cut accurately, you are able to pressure fit the prints into the medallions without any adhesive. But we still recommend using a couple dabs of museum, tacky putty or Velcro Command Strips (TM) to hold them in place while bouncing down the road.
Once printed and dried, your memory is mounted to an adhesive foam core, trimmed to your size, wrapped, and packaged for shipping to your location. That could be to your home base or to the campground of your choice. Be sure to ask permission if shipping to the campground office. Not all campgrounds are willing to accept packages for campers. And plan ahead. Production time is generally five days and shipping can take up to another five days depending on your location.
