Evening Glow from Hendrick’s Light

The evening I captured this image felt truly magical. While the colors weren’t what I had initially envisioned, the soft, pastel hues that unfolded created an even more serene and captivating atmosphere than the fiery red sky I had hoped for.

This peaceful scene is at the mouth of the Sheepscot River in Southport, Maine. Standing proudly at the river's edge is the

historic Hendricks Head Lighthouse, originally built in 1829. For nearly two centuries, this lighthouse has guided mariners safely up the river, a steadfast guardian of the coast.

The image you see is a 36" wide panorama, masterfully stitched from nine individual photos to capture the full breadth of this breathtaking moment in nature.

Misty Morning Sunrise

Imagine waking up to the soft remnants of an overnight summer rain, the air crisp and cool. As the morning sun begins to rise over the horizon, a delicate fog blankets the valleys below, slowly weaving its way up the hillside, creating an enchanting, almost mystical atmosphere. This is one of those rare moments where nature’s beauty takes your breath away, and I was fortunate enough to capture it.

Living in the northeastern United States, history feels like it's woven into the very landscape around me. For generations, families have carved out lives amidst the meadows, hills, and waterways of this region. Nowhere is this history more palpable than in the village cemeteries, where time seems to stand still. I captured this image on a quiet day, as a gentle snowfall blanketed the scene. At first glance, many think it's a black and white photograph—until I point out the subtle patina on the gravestones and the faint green hue of the evergreens in the background.

It’s incredible how a winter snowstorm can mute the colors of

Living in an area surrounded by lakes and mountains allows me to witness stunning scenes like this on a regular basis. This image captures not just the view, but the feeling of calm and awe that comes with experiencing a morning like this firsthand. It’s an invitation to bring that peaceful, atmospheric moment into your space.

Lake Mead Recreation Area

There’s nothing quite like escaping the cold, wet clutches of a snowy New Hampshire March and stepping into the warmth of the desert. I've had the pleasure of exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Nevada and Arizona on several trips, often staying in Las Vegas while my wife attended a conference. But my real adventure began each morning as I ventured out into the wild, camera in hand, to capture the untamed beauty of the desert.

One of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve explored is the Lake Mead Recreation Area. In early spring, the stark, otherworldly beauty of this landscape is nothing short of

mesmerizing. As you drive along the northern shore of Lake Mead, it’s easy to let your imagination wander back in time—visualizing a Jurassic world where massive dinosaurs roamed these vast, open spaces. The sense of wonder this place evokes is indescribable, and I've sought to capture that same sense of awe and timeless beauty in this photograph.

Bring a piece of this ancient, untamed landscape into your home, and experience the breathtaking serenity and mystery of the desert every day.

Sunset from Ferry Beach

Sunrise on the Back River Estuary

Maine’s Boothbay region is a treasure trove of picturesque fishing villages, rugged shorelines, iconic lighthouses, and pristine estuaries. This tranquil scene, captured at sunrise, reflects the timeless beauty of the coast. But what makes it even more fascinating is how it transforms with the tides. When I took this photo at high tide, the still, blue waters created a sense of serenity. Yet just a few hours later, these same waters recede into tidal mud-flats, inviting a host of wildlife to begin their morning ritual.

As the tide shifts, herons and egrets descend to feed, challenging each other for prime spots under the watchful eyes of a pair of bald eagles who call a nearby island home. It’s a dynamic, living landscape—one that changes before your eyes throughout the day, offering a new perspective each time you look.

This image captures one peaceful moment in a constantly evolving natural scene that was hard to leave behind after a week spent soaking in its beauty. Now, you can bring that same sense of tranquility and wonder into your own space, enjoying the beauty of Maine’s coast no matter where you are.

There’s a special tradition we have—kicking off the RV season along the stunning central Maine coast. Arriving in late April or early May, just before the summer crowds, we find ourselves immersed in the quiet beauty of the landscape. Most days, you’ll find me out on the marshes, camera in hand, capturing the grace of shorebirds as they feed or stake their claim over territory. But this evening, I ventured a little further north to Ferry Beach, drawn by the promise of a perfect, serene scene.

Ferry Beach offers an incredible view over the Nonesuch River basin as it meets the Atlantic Ocean. The stillness of the water, combined with a neutral density filter, created an almost

mirrorlike surface—so calm, so peaceful. And just on the horizon, slightly right of center, New Hampshire’s Mount Washington emerges from the distant landscape, a rare sight, visible only a few times a year. A local resident told me it’s a true treat when it appears.

I can’t help but imagine having this view from my porch—if it were mine, I’d be out there every evening, soaking in the calm and the beauty of this extraordinary place. And now, this captured moment can bring that sense of peace and wonder to your home, too.

Winter Orchard

grooming, with branches piled high on the ground. But now, the orchard has never looked more ready for its portrait. Set against a soft, snow-filled gray sky, these trees stand tall in their winter finery, a picture of timeless beauty and perseverance.

This image captures the orchard at its finest—quiet, dignified, and dressed in the elegance of winter. It's a moment of peace and reflection, a piece of history that’s been given new life. Bring the serene beauty of this orchard into your home, and enjoy the story it tells daily.

Long before my time, a farmer planted a humble row of apple trees on his hilltop farm. Over the generations, these trees have likely yielded hundreds of bushels of apples, destined for cold storage, apple pies, or freshly pressed cider. Today, these resilient trees are experiencing a new chapter, woven into the fabric of a vibrant neighborhood. Over the last three decades, beautiful homes have sprung up around the orchard, and with them, a renewed dedication to tending and preserving these trees for future generations.

When I first discovered this location, I decided to wait before photographing it, as the orchard had just undergone its fall

The Dead of Winter

the landscape, creating an almost monochromatic world, tricking the eye into seeing only shades of gray. The stillness of this moment, and the timelessness of the setting, give the image a haunting beauty. As I framed this shot, a title kept echoing in my mind—as though whispered by the past itself.

This photograph captures not just a scene, but a story—a quiet reflection of the history and lives that have come before us. Now, you can bring that sense of tranquility and connection to the past into your own space.

Spring Light

After months of shoveling snow and keeping the wood stove roaring, nothing compares to the pure joy of that first RV trip in the spring. There’s something magical about stepping outside and feeling the fresh air, soaking in the warmth of the sun, and watching the landscape come alive around you. As the leaves begin to unfurl, they paint the world in a dazzling array of greens—a vibrant palette that signals the start of a new season.

This particular scene was captured in the rolling hills of western New Hampshire, but its beauty is universal. What drew me to capture this

moment was the stunning contrast of lush, varied greens set against a crisp blue sky, with delicate, wispy clouds drifting by. It’s a perfect reminder of the rejuvenation that spring brings after a long, cold winter.

Whether you’re dreaming of spring meadows or simply looking for a bit of nature’s tranquility, this image can transport you to that warm, sun-filled day all year long. Bring it home and let it brighten your space, reminding you of the simple joys of spring every time you look at it.

Nautical Sunrise at Cape Neddick

looks. My ice-gripping boots were no match for it. After several failed attempts to get a solid foothold, I ended up using my tripod as a makeshift hiking pole, managing to scoot myself back to safety over the slick rocks—vowing never to attempt such a maneuver in freezing weather again.

This photo captures more than just a lighthouse at dawn—it tells the story of persistence, patience, and the sometimes comical challenges that come with chasing the perfect shot. Add this piece to your collection and enjoy the beauty (and adventure) of the Maine coast without the cold feet!

I’d venture to say there are probably as many photos of Maine’s Cape Neddick and Nubble Lighthouse as there are cameras in New England. Every time I visit, I find a crowd of photographers, all staking out their spot, hoping for that elusive, award-winning shot.

On this particular January morning, I arrived to discover the tide was low—perfect for getting closer to the water. Carefully, I made my way down to the lower ledge, inch by inch, waiting patiently for the light to perform its magic. While the sunrise wasn’t exactly breathtaking, the soft yellows and oranges along the horizon cast a subtle glow, adding a delicate warmth to the scene.

As the water began creeping up towards my boots, I figured it was time to make my exit. That’s when I learned an important lesson: frozen algae is slipperier than it
