American White Pelican
An American White Pelican stretches its wings after preening to reposition feathers. American White Pelicans have one of the largest wingspans of any North American bird, reaching up to 9 feet from tip to tip. The "bump" on the bill of the White Pelican only occurs during breeding season. I read that this bump falls off after the breeding season. White Pelicans gather their food from the water surface, dipping their beaks into the water to snap up fish and other aquatic animals.
