First Place in this division was awarded to Sherwood Frazier of Laconia, NH, for his captivating overhead photograph capturing the intricate textures left in the sand as the ocean waters recede. The image beautifully centers on a small rock, surrounded by delicate rivulets etched into the sand, showcasing remarkable tonality and detail. Congratulations to Sherwood for creating such an exceptional piece!

Second Place awarded in the Lakes Region Art Association’s 84th Members Exhibit
I’m thrilled to share that my print, 'The Cuckold Light Station,' has been awarded Second Place in the Black & White Photography Division at the 2024 Lakes Region Art Association’s 84th Annual Members Exhibit. This image, captured from the Newegan, Maine town dock as waves surged beneath, depicts the iconic lighthouse standing resilient after a storm swept out to sea.
To create this piece, I combined two distinct exposure sets: one to capture the dynamic waves and rugged shoreline, including the birds perched on the rocks, and another, longer exposure for the dramatic sky above. The result is a striking contrast between the turbulent ocean and the tranquil sky.
Printed on luxurious 16 mil Epson Hot Press paper with a ten-color pigmented ink printer, this Fine Art Print is completed with acid-free matting, non-glare glass, and a 1.25-inch wide box frame. I’m honored to see this piece recognized among such talented artists.
